We honor Maj Dick Winters (1918-2011) who was a United States Army officer and decorated war veteran. He commanded Company "E", 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, during World War II.

Major Winters was discharged from the service and worked as a civilian in NJ, only to be recalled to duty during the Korean War, during which time he worked at Fort Dix, NJ. Recently, he has become more vastly known via the leading character portrayal of his WWII Army career in the HBO mini-series 'Band of Brothers.'
